Actually the project goes through three stages.
Firstly, we need to write overview and introduce the system requirements.
Then we can describe the functionality of the system by using(Use Case diagram) + table giving brief description of each use case.
The second stage is writing Assumptions/constraints and state any business rules, influencing the design which means the (areas of the case study that are ambiguous – clarification of these ambiguous areas will affect the design of the database) + List of user requirements (owner, priority, description ‘the system shall produce a monthly report showing the status of each project ...etc)
The last stage is drawing ER diagram (showing PKs, FKs, named relationships). This can be produced using StarUML.
