Greetings:
Trained as a lawyer, experienced as a hard copy news reporter, with a second field of graduate study (using the research capabilities of SPSS) in the Administration of Justice. I have also taught paralegal studies, English (my favorite subject) and business communication and writing, for four years, in a post-secondary training school.
I've been successfully writing and publishing since the early 1980s. I had an interlude as a judge in a tribal court, including children’s court. I've been a stringer, features writer, and weekly newspaper columnist.
I graduated with a B.A. in history, minoring in secondary education. My work history has also included work as a representative of a builders’ association, the representative for the Eastern Pierce County Chamber’s economic development committee, and a volunteer on various land use bodies (including Tacoma’s Open Spaces committee).
My areas of writing experience include: (a) a range of fiction and fact-based novellas (b) judicial function grants, including an innovative Defenders program at the Puyallup Indian Nation; (c) educational writer for the Muckleshoot Tribe; (d) health program grants and an economic development block grant for summer employment in Modoc County, California (e) a range of columns and newspaper feature stories; (f) ghost projects ranging from the California state driver guide, white papers on advertising, and new learning methods.
Sincerely,
Jack Douglas Howard
