Dear sir Do you already have the server installed? What you need to do when you receive an information than your device is disconnected? I would propose to use WiFi on the ESP8266. To use GSM you may need to much RAM (that depends on your sensor). In that case you may need to replace Arduino Uno to Mega2560 board. I can make both variants (although than GSM version need more working time and may ne out of the proposed time budget). Please, contact me in chat

Hi, Basically I'm an electronics engineer. Have 7 years of experience in arduino and embedded system design. Mainly I'm doing freelance electronics consultancy here. I do know all communication protocols and interfacing of arduino and raspberry pi. Still updates knowledge. Here in this project you used Nano and mega because as slave master configuration. Actually that is not needed. we can use multiprocessing in a single arduino so that we can do this project with only single arduino. Serial data uses only two lines tx and Rx. Tx from arduino should connect to Rx of lidar and vice versa. But it's asynchronous i2c also uses 2 lines. One is sclk and other is sda. Here sclk make the communication synchronous and sda have bidirectional data flow. I'm sure I can do this work. I can definitely help you. And I can give you more helps in future too. I think I have the perfect solution for your requirement. The sensor you use doesn't matter. Let's use an Arduino + Ethernet shield to do your job. If you like let's use a GSM shield so that you can receive a message when the sensor i triggered.
