I am doing Prototypes for a hopefully bigger following production. The main components are Arduino and Bluetooth BLE or Wifi(xbee) with a distance detection (RSSI). Below you find a more detailed project description and attached a JPG with details and explanations. Project Description: Arduino, Bluetooth BLE OR XBEE Wifi, Distance Detection. Detailed information about the Object & Station, Situation and Examples please see attached JPG. Object: Arduino, Bluetooth BLE or XBEE Board, LED, Power Station: Windows PC, Arduino, Bluetooth BLE or XBEE Board In short form, the object is moving, the object must be detected by distance (RSSI) and there must be a communication between object and station. REQUEST: 1.) Definition of needed Hardware: Bluetooth BLE or XBEE Wifi Board (or something else)... You decide which board / technology. (probabley a decision between Bluetooth BLE & XBEE) PS: this are my ideas of realisation, if you propose some else - we are open mindend... 2.) Programming: Variable Distance Detection, Object Identification, Variable/Function to Object & Station - for each station the distance detection must be set individually (can be done manually in code - no problem). as example: station 1 detects the object from 2 meters, station 2 detects the object from 5 meters - the distance detection doesnt have to be extremly precise, i would say +/- 1 meter would be ok. Anyway, as pecise as possible. - if the object is detected, it must be identified and a function or variable must be send to object & station (for following action which will be programmed by us) So we'll need Ball ID, Variable/Function to Object - as example changing LED color, Variable/Function to Station - as example to play a movie... Hi, I am an Electrical Engineer and graduated this month, I have made indoor localization final year project using wireless sensor network, in which i have used Xbee pro s1 module to track the tagged object inside the building of about 50 to 70m area. i have applied then kalman filter combined with Ransac filter for fine path estimation. The tag is made transmitter which continuously broadcast the packets to all recievers and they will determine the RSSI of the packet. So i have done the same work as you have posted just need some little bit modifications of color change . I have also used nrf51822 nordic semiconductor bluetooth v4.0 evaluation board and RFduino. I have the designs of my tag shield which will i share you. So your job is reakky easy for me to do . Please contact me as soon as possible. Looking forward to work with you....

Hello, For this project I would recommend BLE, since BLE has distance measuring right into it (build in the devices and is very reliable). For a BLE module RN4020 would probably do just fine, it's low cost, but still with good range and reliable. Since you want an Arduino prototype, I would recommend tests with Atmega328p (standard UNO) and when finished the development transfer to ATTINY45 or Atmega8A, both are compatible with arduino but are low cost ~0.7 USD in quantity for ATTINY45 and ~1.5 USD for Atmega8A, much can be saved in future mass production this way. So I can offer you a PCB with Arduino compatible controller (your choice), with BLE module, with LED drivers, and power management all in one board as the final device should look like. If you choose to prototype with arduino standard boards you would need to make a shield and when it runs, you start making this board, that I can offer you now. If you accept my offer for direct design of the main board, for the same time as for a shield I will design the main board in size close or less than the shield and by that saving you money from the development process. So the bottom line: I can make your whole device with CPU, BLE, LEDs and power management in the time and the budget you are giving for just a piece of the prototype. Hallo ! I'd like to work on this project (You have already invited me to bid so I guess you know my old Arduino work) but I have a question about how the hardware will be supplied ? will I build the entire project in my place then ship the hardware and software to you ? I can program the software on both side and provide you a full solution package.. but I guess we need to communicate first to discuss details maybe on Skype.

This is cooooool. After checking the Design, it looks interesting to work on. First, the Total Range you need is 1 - 10 meters. In that case we cannot use BLE as the range is limited to 5 meters. We suggest to use ZigBee in this application. Let's chat for more....
