The project is to design a Clap sensitive LED lamp dimmer.
Functions: 1. Convert 230V 50Hz to DC for circuit operation and LED lamp power, using transformer-less capacitor based power supply
2. Detect a clap sound properly.
3. According to the claps and the current state of the lamp, the PIC should dim or brighten the lamp.
I will provide the flow charts for the design algorithm.
the LED lamp is a night lamp similar to the one that is in the attached pictures below.
I have attached two sample projects .pdf files which is used to dim an incandescent lamp using PIC.
You can modify it to work for a clap (instead of a remote) and use a transistor(instead of a TRIAC) and you do not need to worry about zero crossing and firing the triac. Just simply process the clap sound and drive the transistor using a PWM signal. That's all.
You can use a PIC12F with PWM module (eg: PIC12F675) or a PIC10F with software PWM (eg: PIC10F200)
