HOW IS THIS PAPER IMPORTANT TO YOUR LEADERSHIP VISION MOVING FORWARD? I have attached the LEADERSHIP JOURNEY PART ONE. You can read over my part one and more sense to write this one. While this reflection is a significant part of your grade, it also is the opportunity for you to follow up on your semester and identify what was most significant for you and your leadership moving forward. During weeks 5 - 7 you gave and wrote the Personal Leadership Journey Reflection (Part 1)– that answered, “what are you bringing” to this community. We now ask you to revisit and prioritize the experiences you’ve engaged in here to answer the question, “what are you leaving with?” The assignment narrative: The purpose of this assignment is to tell a story about what is unique and magical about you and how can you highlight some of the other impacting readings, tasks, discussion, moments of inspiration. This provides one last reflection and synthesis of important concepts discussed in our course together. You will need to write a 4-5-page, double-spaced paper that incorporates the following: What were the memorable moments? If someone asked you about this class several years from now, what are two meaningful and positive experiences that you would tell them about (discussions, tasks, moments of inspiration, assignments, etc.)? Why were these meaningful for your personal leadership? (This should be about .75 – 1.5 pages and is worth up to 15 points) What are you carrying forward? If we stick with the “Journey” theme – what do you think you are carrying with you on your journey forward? (This should be about 1 – 1.5 pages and is worth up to 25 points) Of all the readings we did – which two do you think you learned the most from and how do you think you will use these in the future? Of the three Concepts we had in class (Seeking to understand, no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone, and, relationships are the currency of power) – which one had the most meaning for you and how do you think you will use this in your journey ahead? How are you defining leadership now? How, has your thoughts on the definition of leadership changed, or if it hasn’t changed, why? (This should be about .75 – 1 page and is worth up to 10 points) Consider your original thoughts on leadership when you began the course. There was some discussion about this in the week 2 quote of the week forum (fine to use your wording there if those summed up your initial thoughts on leadership) Then give your new definition of leadership. How or why has your definition evolved? What do you see when you look into your future? - You are about to walk a new path and direction when leaving here. (This should be about 1 – 1.5 pages and is worth up to 20 points) How might you use what you have learned here? How do you see Leadership showing up in your future life? Have you already changed a bit over the semester from when you started? How are your friends and family seeing you differently as a result of your participation in this course? Have you identified what might be your “edge” or “big thing” that you will need to work on in order to become more powerful or impactful in your world? Polished Essay and Final Details: This paper has a limit of 5-pages. You should not need to go over this page limit, while still being able to provide adequate depth and reflection. This paper is worth 75 points based on the totals indicated above. Up to 5 points are assigned for grammar/writing style. Grading from Instructors: Post a brief writing memo at the beginning of the paper letting us know what was the most challenging section to write about this time.
