QUESTIONS OF THE COURSEWORK 4.1 Question No.1 (20 marks) Investigate the CNC machines at University of Greenwich. You are required to present and discuss about the main functional units and important machine elements of the CNC milling or turning machine at University. The input shaft rotates at n1 = 2000 rpm in a counterclockwise direction. The gearbox is required to be designed so that the output shaft rotates at n6 = 400 rpm (approximately). The suggested module m for all gears G1, G2, G3, G4 and G5 is m = 2. The number of teeth and the pith diameter d of the gear G1 are 36 and 72 [mm] respectively.
