database branch debug in .NET application

Identify and resolve an issue in an existing web application that emerged when an alternative database connection was added. The code is in Visual Studio 2008 using c#. A database connection at session initiation is made to either database one or database two depending on a parameter passed in the URL. The application is mature and functions correctly when connecting to database one. It connects to database two when first called, but then breaks down at the response redirection.
