I have a TSV file which is about 2.5 Gb - this file has about 4.1 million separate contact records in it. I need to have this file made into a number of smaller TSV files, each with 25,000 contact records. As this file was too large to work with in Excel or Access, I used a text editor (VIM) to start the project myself and completed about 57% of it but now VIM crashes every time I attempt to copy data from the LARGE file to the series of smaller files I've created. In other words, of the approximately 4.1 million records in the TSV file that I want to turn into hundreds of smaller TSV files that have about 25000 records per file, I have completed this process for about 2.3 million records and the last 1.7 million records (approximate) still need to be done.
