Located by the Highway 14, place of old gold mines, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Pelona_Mountains, Acton was founded in 1887 by gold miners who were working in the Red Rover Mine. City was named by miners after Acton, Massachusetts. Sunny, full of junipers, beautiful rural area.
