My name is Des. I am looking to get my family crest redesigned so I can get a family banner remade for my father for Christmas. I have an old image of what the crest is supposed to look like so I just need the design touched up with a scroll at the top with my family name in it and the motto in the bottom scroll and have it coloured. Most likely madder (a deep red or burgundy) and mustard (marigolds & barks). I'd go with a deep red for the line drawings and maybe just a natural beige or cream for the background.

    Very interesting contest. Few questions. About the colors, there is a heraldic code for when a crest is displayed in black & white, for example: The field in your coat of arms has points, that is a symbol for "Or" (heraldic name for yellow), the grid pattern in the fess (horizontal ordinary) and chevrons (the pointy ordinaries) is for "Sable" (heraldic name for black) and the vertical lines in the crescents is for Gules (heraldic name for red). You can even read the Blason (heraldic description of a coat of arms) in the bottom:
    "ARMS: Or, a fess between two chevrons all sable, the one in chief accompanied of three crescents gules"
    But we can use whatever colors you decide.
    What we're not sure of is the description and depiction of the crest (the figure on above the shield), I can't understand the writing, except that, is Or (yellow) and Azure (blue), it seems some kind of that. Also, would you be interested in a version with a helmet and mantle? Thank you! - Supernova Corp.
