What is a thin section?
When a mining company, university or oil & gas company is searching for the right place to dig, one of the techniques they use, is to drill into the earth to obtain samples that will tell them if it is the right place. Thin Section Australia provides a service for preparing rock samples for analysis under a microscope or other scanning equipment. The rock is cut to size, glued to a small piece of glass, then ground until it is less than the thickness of a hair and then polished until free of microscopic scratches. Scientists can then shine light through the rock sample and see the different minerals in the sample.

Hi Guys,
Firstly, sorry for the bad brief and the feedback could be better, but its my first time. I promise to get better with future projects.
Can we add an stripped back and styled image of the globe with an outline of Australia positioned in the southern hemisphere at front?
We also like the idea of communicating the idea of "thin" through the use of a horizontal cut through the text, or using lighter fonts.
