This is a 5 minute safety video for a quad bike tourism business, http://www.quadbikeking.com.au. It needs to be fun, engaging, exciting but serious.

I was thinking the style could work as Pencilmation, with a bit of Road Runner humour. But, I am very happy for you to contribute other ideas.

The budget is USD$3,500. And the script is attached.

To enter the competition:

1. Pick any part of the script and animate a few seconds of it
2. To make this competition really exciting, I will pay a bonus of US$200 to the 2nd and 3rd best contributions!!
3. Feel free to ask me any questions

  My record has 90% winning entries and I can't remember someone who says that word. It's all against odds and negativity. It's very simple.. "the client is happy" period. That's the bottom line. so good luck dude.

OK, I'm about to award my winner and I want to thank everyone for their contribution. It was a good field, but the winner was stand out. The characterisation of the winner was adult appropriate - and that was a challenge for a lot of other contributors. It was very funny, which is important. And finally it was "TV quality", nothing amateur about it at all.

The competition draws close to its end and we have one front runner. 2D animation leads the field, but I've seen some good 3D work as well.

What separates the front runner from the rest is the comic value. I'm laughing, the humour is adult relevant (90% of our customers are adults) and the characters are funny.

A lot of the 3D characters are drawn from what I would describe as teenage animation. The 3D animation is typically educational, with the characters telling the story and mouthing the words. This is OK, but their characterisation is usually stupid, whereas I'd prefer they were cool and trendy.

The 2D animation relies on the voiceover to tell the story and the characters simply make the mistakes. Easier to get a laugh.

There is still everything to play for, including two runner up prizes of $200.

  No, I think this animation has to be significantly focussed on characters and not objects. The occasional characters that appear on this video are unexciting, unanimated and dull. There is no humour, sorry
